On January 23, 2023, from approximately 11:42 AM EST until 11:58 AM EST the Brightidea system became unavailable for some customers.
Root cause Analysis
We saw an increased volume of traffic to our servers and determined that the traffic was coming from automated bots. The increased volume caused latency in load balancing and the site being inaccessible for some users.
Our engineering team identified the bots making the calls and were able to block the associated IP addresses.
