Embed External Videos on a View Idea Page

Videos are a great way for users to share information within their Submissions. External videos can be applied to any View Idea page in just a few easy steps. Let's review the available options.

Option 1

YouTube, Vimeo, and MS Stream embed codes

Users can copy the embed code for a video from YouTube, Vimeo, or MS Stream and add it to the Description field of the View Idea page for a Submission.

• Note: MS Stream will only embed by using the embed code. YouTube and Vimeo can embed by using the embed code or the direct URL.

1. Find your video from YouTube, Vimeo, or MS Stream.

2. Right-click on the video and select Copy embed code

3. Navigate to your View Idea page within Brightidea and paste the code into the Description field's Rich Text editor.

4. Save your changes. 

Option 2

Send Video Files via Email

If a user has a video saved on their phone or laptop that they want to share, they can send that file as an Email Submission.

• Note: As long as the video file is an AVI, MP4, WMV, or MOV, the file will be sent with the Submission as a Video Attachment.

Important Notes

• The maximum file size limit for a video file is 500MB.
• Brightidea does not host files that exceed that limit on our servers. Larger size videos must be uploaded to an external video hosting service as noted above.
