Brightidea Product Release Notes - June 25th 2014


In the past few weeks we have made a number of enhancements and bug fixes. These changes will take effect on Wednesday, June 25th, 2014, 8:30PM EST.  If you have received these release notes via email, this post may be truncated.

 New! Reputation Points Automatically Added During Idea Status Changes

  • Added the capability for reputation points to be added for a user when idea status is changed via Idea List, View Idea or Rules Engine rule.

  • Updated status points are shown on the User Stats widget, Leaderboard widget, Manage user interface, and the User Activity report.

  • Enhanced the Create WebStorm page so that, for a scheduled challenge, Admins can choose to also include best-practice newsletters on-page rather than needing to visit setup.
  • Added translation label support for Global Navigation Search, Action Items, Notifications.  
  • Added translation label support for "wrong password" messages, "password doesn't match" messages, "password doesn't fit security requirements" messages.
  • Updated 12 major error pages to be translation label editable.
  • Added a new Client BETA option so that, if Idea images are assigned by Category, user entered idea images can be disabled.
  • Added new Activity Feed updates when comment votes are entered.
  • Added thumbnail idea images to the Activity Feed.  Thumbnails of idea images entered show in the Enterprise Updates Widget and the Member Landing Page activity feed.
  • Extended search capability so that users can enter an idea code and find the idea with that idea code.
  • Enhanced Activity Feed update images so that smaller thumbnails show in the feed, and larger photos are available if the user clicks on the image.
  • Updated widgets and Enterprise Profile page to include updates in the Activity Feed when comments are edited.
  • Fixed a bug where, under certain circumstances, the Mini Idea widget didn't account for chip votes correctly when two ideas were merged.
  • Fixed a Business Results Dashboard bug where, with certain date ranges, the Date Selections available sometimes showed incorrect options.

  • Added support for multiple word tags on Post and View Idea pages.
  • Extended search capability so that users can enter an idea code and find the idea with that idea code.
  • Updated Activity Update widget and member landing page so that editing of comments appears in the Activity Feed. 
  • Improved the performance of the Engagement Dashboard downloadable exports.
  • Added translation label support for Invite a Friend.
  • Added a new Customer BETA option that will automatically upgrade the WebStorm with new production features as they are introduced (Customer Beta and Brightidea Beta features won't be automatically turned on).  
    • This option will best support systems that will need the latest features and don't have customized features or custom page formatting.
  • Added new Activity Feed updates when new comment votes are entered.
  • Added idea images to the Activity Feed.  Thumbnails of idea images entered show in the Enterprise Updates Widget, the WebStorm Updates Widget, and the Member Landing Page activity feed.
  • Upgraded Activity Feed update images so that smaller thumbnails show in the feed, and larger photos are available if the user clicks on the image.
  • Added new short URLs for Idea Boards in the format of <affiliate>.Brightidea.com/<webstorm>/boards#<sort-order>.
  • Added new short URLs for Idea Submission forms <affiliate>.Brightidea.com/<webstorm>/submit.
  • Fixed an issue with inline idea editing on View Idea 2.0 where, in some cases, the headline of the idea could be erased when the description was edited.
  • Resolved a bug where, in some cases, the Edit Chips link was still visible when ideas were in a locked chips status.
  • Fixed a problem where required drop-down idea submission questions would sometimes not trigger dependent form questions appropriately.

  • Added the capability for reputation points to be added to a user when idea status is changed from WSA Grid.  Updated status points are shown on the User Stats widget, Leaderboard widget, Manage user interface, and the User Activity report.
  • Resolved an issue where some filters on the WebStorm Admin grid weren't supporting some language characters.
