Getting Started:
- Chips Voting is found on the Initiative level under Site Setup > Ideas > Voting
-
Admins can configure:
-
- The number of votes/chips per person
- The maximum number of chips per idea
- Which Idea statuses to return chips to voters once reached
-
My Voting Chips Widget
Admin can add the My Voting Chips Widget to the Site page(s) in the Widget Editor.
- This widget allows users track their chips and contains a counter of remaining available votes.
- If users wish to reallocate their used chips, they can recall their chips by selecting Return all of my votes.
Using Chips Voting
- When Chips voting is enabled - it will allow all users to place chips on any Ideas.
- If Admins set a limit, the system will inform users of the maximum amount they can delegate.
- Users can edit their chip allotment at any time using the Edit Chips feature on the vote count.
Important things to Note:
- There are two reports that will show how many chips each Idea has been allotted by users:
- The Votes report under Site Setup > Exports > Votes
- The Voting History report under System Setup > Exports > Submissions
- Chips cannot be shared across Initiatives, they are unique to each Site.
- To learn more about how Chips Voting relates to Reputation Points, check out this support article.

When I use the Idea board and hove over an idea it says Chips X Total X Invested. Where is the invested amount controlled or set? It's showing to be the same as the chip count.
Hello Cindi,
The "Invested" number on the idea boards hover shows how many chip votes the individual user put on the idea.
Thank you,

Hi Jason,
Good question, unfortunately, there is no email when returning chips. Perhaps send out a newsletter to the users who had their chips returned instead?
Please let me know if you have any other questions on this topic.
Thank you,

Is there a way to hide the total amount of Chips for each idea? I don't want to influence others chip votes because of others before them.
I have the same question as Steve Domeck had above. Can you please let us know? Thanks.

Hi Kalvin,
There is no functionality to hide chip votes at this time.
