Name (Generate a Name)

Need to find a name for something? With our Name app, you can broadcast your needs to a large audience, get suggestions, and have the crowd vote to find the best options. Read below to learn more about this process and how to progress through the pipeline.

Getting Started

• To quickly recap on how to create your Name App, navigate to your apps screen, and select the Name app.

• Once there, select "Set Up a Name Event"
• Fill out your title, description, audience to complete the wizard.

Site Home Page

• Once you create your new Name event, you will be brought to your "Name" site home page.
• Here, you can update the site hero image, change your submission form, and more!

Pipeline Steps View

• After successfully creating your Name app, you will see that it comes with preconfigured stages and steps.  
• To navigate there, select Admin --> Manage Pipeline

• The "Name" backend pipeline configuration consists of the following:
  • Under Consideration
    
    • Rate Names
  • Shortlist
    • Review Shortlist
  • Selected 
    • Selected Name

Name Submission

• Under Consideration
• As names are submitted, they will be placed in this first step. 
  • This step is preconfigured as a "Single Scale" tool type 
• The configured action item assignees will receive an action item and be able to review the "Name" and give it a rating. 
  • Based on evaluation results, a "short list" of top names are advanced to the next step.

Shortlist

• Review Shortlist
• In this step, the Sponsor reviews the top options. The winning name is advanced to the next step.
  
  • There is no tool type pre-configured to this step
• Pipeline administrators/moderators have the option to configure an additional tool type if they wish to do so.

Selected

• Select Name
• After "Names" are short-listed they can be moved into the "Select Name" step. 
  • This step reflects the final winning name.  
  • There is no tool type pre-configured to this step
• Pipeline administrators/moderators have the option to configure an additional tool type if they wish to do so and/or just move the selected "Name event finalists to this last step and complete the work-flow.
