You can now customize the idea code at both the system level and the activity level for better flexibility and organization when managing multiple pipelines.
To enable on the system level, navigate to System Settings > Idea Settings
Within there, you will see the default system idea code "D" listed. To adjust type any series of letters within the form field. As a note, special characters are limited to just using "-".
Once the user inputs the requested change and hits save, all future and past ideas within the platform will change to the new code, retaining their number, but appending the new pre-fix.
Depending on the count of ideas in the system, this may take a couple minutes to propagate throughout the full system.
To enable the ability to adjust and create custom idea code prefixes on the initiative level, the admin will want to enable the input under system settings to"Customized idea code on the activity level."
Once enabled, navigate to Site Settings for the activity desired.
Same functionality as the system settings, once the user inputs the requested change and hits save, all future and past ideas within the specific activity will change to the new code, retaining their number, but appending the new pre-fix.
Once the code is changed, any link to a record within your system will go to the new URL, with the new pre-fix honored. If you have bookmarked a direct URL, or have sent a direct URL with the old code, you will see a 404 page, and will need to navigate to the idea once more.
