In Brightidea, users can "follow" each other and see their relevant updates on the Member Landing page. Once a user follows someone, they will be subscribed to that user's activity and will see those updates in their Activity Feed.
There are two ways to follow another user:
-
Select Follow while viewing the user's profile page.
- Note: The same button can be used to Unfollow a user.
- Alternatively, hover over the user's profile picture where displayed and select Follow.
- Followed users will receive an email alerting them that someone has begun following them.
- The email template used for this notification is managed under System Setup > System Email Messages > Initiatives > Follow User
- The subscriber's Member Landing page will display followed users' Ideas, comments, posted updates, and votes, in addition to seeing their own.
- Users can unfollow someone by selecting the same link on the user's profile.
-
Note: The Follow feature only works with Enterprise profiles enabled at the Initiative level.
- If Initiative profiles are used, the follow button will not appear on the hover.
- Administrators can hide the Follow elements via Custom CSS in System Setup
To see the Follow button for a user, you must be using Enterprise Profile pages.
Is the Follow button available at the community level as well?
Hi Dan,
The follow button is only available on the Enterprise profile page.
Thank you,
