Setting the Time Zone in Brightidea


Brightidea offers the option to set the time zone of your Brightidea site via System Setup.

    • Navigate to System Setup > Site > General Settings
    • Select the desired timezone from the drop-down menu:

Administrators can also configure their Brightidea system to display dates and times in a single time zone or to display in their users’ respective time zones.

  • Navigate to System Setup > Site > General Settings
  • Select between System Time Zone or User Time Zone

For System Time Zone, Admins can select a specific time zone in which to display all dates and times in the system.

For User Time Zone, each user will see dates and times according to their local time zone. The time zone is detected from the browser upon logging into the Brightidea system.

Note: Exports and reports currently still respect System Time Zone

  • This time zone configuration will cascade into select exports, search, ideas, comments, vote time stamps, and others (mostly end user facing).
    • Note: Not all places in Brightidea will respect the selected time zone setting. Some back-end lists (Steps view and List view) and certain exports will continue to use the default system time (UTC).
  • The time zone will automatically respect daylight savings, so no additional changes are needed..

    I do not see Daylight time as an option on my Enterprise Setup-Site-Components-Time Zone pulldown menu. How can I change this to the Central Daylight time?
