Brightidea Product Release Notes - April 27, 2016

Brightidea's most recent software release took effect on Wednesday, April 27, 2016, 5:00 PM PST. If you have received these release notes via email, this post may be truncated. To read complete documentation, please visit the Product Release Notes forum in the Brightidea Support Portal.

The following updates and improvements have been made:

Pipeline Management

  • The Pipeline list section has been updated:
    • The "All Pipelines" list for System Admins has been removed; System Admins may still see all Pipelines in their System
    • Folders are now only available when viewing the "All" filter
  • For Find Owner and Implementation Action Items, Due Date has been added as an optional column for the Action Items List
  • For Scorecard Steps, the Step Export and the Scorecard User Score Detail exports have been updated to now include individual Assignee scores for each Idea
  • For Development Action Items, Assignees who are not Development Leads may now complete their Action Item without answering required fields
  • The following issues have been fixed:
    • After creating a new WebStorm, Community Admins could not access the associated Pipeline
    • Column checkbox filters in the Pipeline Idea List view would not display for all columns, and applying column filters would return incorrect results
    • When moving multiple Ideas into a Step, Action Items would not be correctly assigned
    • Scorecard Response Detail exports could not be generated
    • Development Fields in Action Items would not appear if they were dependent on an answer from a previous Development Step
    • Development Fields did not appear correctly for Admins in the Development Step Manage page
    • For Pipelines with consecutive Development Steps, answers for Development Fields for the first Step would appear for Fields in the second Step



  • Communities may now be copied:
    • A new "Copy Community" option is available in the Community setup area of Enterprise Setup
    • This option creates a new Community page, using settings from the original Community page--including associated WebStorms

  • The following issues have been fixed:
    • The Enterprise Ideas Dashboard would not load correctly
    • After deleting answers for a required Profile Field, users were not correctly prompted to re-answer Profile Fields when logging in
    • When creating new WebStorms, the new WebStorm would not have the configured Access Group
    • WebStorms with special characters in their name would not appear correctly in Community WebStorm lists
    • Links in Idea comments were not clickable from Action Item Idea views



  • A new Beta feature has been introduced, allowing Admins to add the WebStorm Image to the WebStorm Dynamic navigation bar
    • This image links to the WebStorm Home page
    • This option may be enabled in WebStorm > Setup > Beta > Add WebStorm image in navigation
  • Moderators may now see Idea Submission questions when the option "Allow all users to see extra questions” is disabled
  • When using the "View as Ordinary User" feature, Private Comment updates no longer appear in the Activity Feed
  • The following issues have been fixed:
    • When posting an Idea, multiple choice answers would not display apostrophes correctly
    • When posting an Idea, adding indents to text fields would cause the font size to change
    • When posting an Idea and adding a tag, existing tags would not appear in search results
    • For Team Submission, after submitting an Idea with no other team members, the Idea submitter would be displayed twice in the Idea Submission Team
    • Double line breaks for Idea text fields would not display correctly in the View Idea page
    • In IE11, images attachments would not upload correctly in the Post Idea 1.0 page
    • After changing the Idea Submitter of an Idea, search results with that Idea displayed the previous Idea Submitter
    • Ideas submitted close to midnight would appear in search results and exports as having been submitted the next day
    • Changing the category for an Idea would not be logged correctly in the Trend Tracking report
    • When editing an Idea, a new Idea image could not be uploaded
    • After editing an Idea and updating a multiple choice question, answers would appear with extra line breaks in the Idea view


WebStorm Admin

  • Fixed an issue in which the WebStorm Admin Ideas Grid export could not be generated
