Innovation Process

Brightidea has proudly introduced a new app, Innovation Process: Stage Gate Workflow. 

The Stage Gate process is a disciplined approach to new product development that involves a series of defined stages separated by decision gates. At each gate, a rigorous evaluation determines whether a project should proceed, be modified, or be terminated.

This powerful methodology is now curated and embedded directly into project workflows within a native app for your system. This KBA will guide you through utilizing Stage Gate within Brightidea's initiatives and the interconnectivity with our Project Rooms. We'll explore how this framework can improve collaboration, decision-making, and, ultimately, the outcome of your innovation initiatives.

Getting Started

• To get started, System Admins can navigate to Command Center > Products > Idea Box and select Innovation Process.

• Select Set Up Innovation Process.

• Follow the steps and input the necessary information to complete the creation process.

Site Homepage

• Once you create your new Innovation Process app, you will be brought to the Homepage.
• Here, you can update the site hero image, change your submission form, and more. 

Pipeline Step View

• Each new Innovation Process comes with preconfigured Stages and Steps. 
• To manage these components, navigate to Site Setup > Steps

Each Stage of the Innovation Process—Discovery, Scope, Build Business Case, Development, Testing & Validation, and Launch—is pre-configured with our Stage Action Item. Following each Stage is a corresponding Gate, pre-configured with our Gate Approval Action Item.

Project Room Customization 

There is one Project Room Template per Pipeline which can be configured within the Configure Action Item modal, as well as under Pipeline Setup > Stage Gate Template.
