Capturing new ideas is effortless with the My Ideas feature! Brightidea's My Ideas provides a way to capture any idea from any employee at any time! Leveraging this tool allows users to save their great ideas and later place them in an Initiative.

How to Enable
Brightidea's My Ideas feature is enabled for all Users by default. If My Ideas is not already enabled, Admins can manually toggle the option under System Setup > Site > User Homepage.
Capturing an Idea
To Capture an Idea when inspiration hits, the quickest way to add an idea is to click the plus icon at the top-right of your Global Navigation:
A dialog box will appear with space to document your idea. You can include details such as Title, Tags and even attachments. Attachments can be dragged-and-dropped into the prompt for a quick import.
- Note: In order to save, information must be entered in at least one of the fields.
- If you want to develop the Idea further before submitting it, you can simply select Add Details. This will redirect you to User Home, where you can find all of your Submissions under My Ideas.
Select the green Save button to save your new Idea.
- Tip for Desktop: CMND + ENTR will also save the Idea.
You will notice that there is no Initiative attached when a User captures an Idea. This is because the Idea is not considered a Submission until it is attached to an Initiative.

Viewing and Editing My Ideas
Once you've created an idea, you can review it at any time after it has been submitted from your User Homepage in a list of the rest of your personal Ideas.
From here, you can edit your Idea by adding a Description and Images. You can also add it to an Initiative by clicking the "Create Submission..." button:
Important Notes
- Only the Idea Creator has access to view/edit their Ideas under their user account. Individual users' drafts under 'My Ideas' are not visible to Admins, Moderators, or anyone else other than Idea Creator.
- There are currently no exports or reports available for 'My Ideas'

Note: An Idea is not considered a Submission until it is associated with and submitted to a specific Initiative.
- There is no right or wrong format for recording your Ideas- Consider them just like your email or personal notes.
