This Brightidea Thesaurus is to help you understand each component of your innovation platform and the keywords associated with them. Many sections of the platform use related keywords to reference similar components. Below is our frequently used terminology and what it all means.

Enterprise Keywords
Enterprise
Similar terms: System, Affiliate
An Enterprise is the main directory of your Brightidea platform.
Communities
Similar terms: Pooling, Pools
A community will be a channel of any Enterprise. They help organize your Enterprise into smaller branches if your system has many Sites and Users.
Command Center
Command Center is the back-end overview of your entire system. Command Center will show you Pipelines, Innovations, Users and much more.
Analytics Dashboard
Similar terms: Engagement Dashboard, Innovations Dashboard, Site Dashboard
Analytics Dashboard track statistics such as Innovations, Engagement, and Site activity.
Note: Each dashboard will show different data.
Pipeline Keywords
Pipeline
Similar terms: Workflow, List View, Steps View
The Pipeline is the back-end view of your Site. Each Pipeline is created for optimal idea management, but can be customized to offer a better innovation process.
Stages
A Stage is a development phase that tracks Submission progress.
Steps
A Step is a subset of a Stage that provides exactly where a Submission is within a workflow.
Manage Step
Managing a Step shows administrators Submissions that are currently within the step, the history of the step, and much more.
Configure Step
Configuring a Step allows administrators to enable certain settings for a Step, assign Evaluators, and much more.
Tool Types
Brightidea uses several different evaluation tools for Submissions as they progress through workflows.
Rules Engine
The Rules Engine is used to set up automatic triggers within your Pipeline when Submissions meet specific conditions.
Communications
Similar terms: Email Templates, Email Messages
Communications are a great tool to send emails to Users when a condition or engagement is triggered.
Site Keywords
Site
Similar terms: Challenge, WebStorm, Initiative, Campaign, Process
Sites are the front-end channel for all innovation processes. Systems may have multiple Sites that target different objectives.
Idea Board
Similar terms: Submission Board
A Submission Board is an organized collection of all current Submissions of a Site.
Scheduler
The Scheduler shows Users where Sites are within the development process. The Scheduler can be configured to open and close for Submission entries, open and close for commenting, and much more.
Submission Keywords
Submission
Similar terms: Idea, Project
A Submission is any concept created by a user that is in response to a Site's mission or goal.
Additional Keywords
Setup
Similar terms: Enterprise Setup, Site Setup, Pipeline Setup
The Setup screen is where configurations are made at an Enterprise, Site or Pipeline level.
Note: Each Setup screen will show different settings which will affect different sections of your site.
Users
A User is a registered account within the system that engages with Submissions and other Users.
Groups
A Group is a collection of Users typically for a specific Site.
Engagement
Similar terms: Activity
Engagement can be seen as logging in, commenting on a Submission, promoting a Submission, creating a Submission and much more.
Permissions
Permissions are assigned to specific Users to moderate, evaluate or configure different sections of your system.
Widgets
Similar terms: Enterprise Widgets, Site Widgets
Widgets are convenient tools that can be added to Enterprise and Site pages that can display User Activity, Sponsors, Top Contributors and much more.
Note: Different (and similar) widgets will be available for Enterprise, Community, and Site.
Notifications
Notifications will appear in your Navigation bar when an Action Item, Message or a System Notification is triggered.
Action Items
Action Items are assigned tasks to specific users in order to complete evaluations. Users will be notified if they've been assigned an Action Item and will be able to respond through their account.
